Hailing from Eagle Island in East Penobscot Bay, The Outhouse Association is an acoustic duo that plays a salty, piney, infectious brand of hyper-local music — songs about farming, fishing, fixing engines, and digging for clams that you probably haven't heard before and certainly won't forget. Join Ian Ludders and Tony Scott as they pay tribute to the grit and humor of life in the great state of Maine, sharing stories and observations between the songs. They'll also discuss Ian's new book, The Log of the Herring Pumper BERYL, a genre-bending work of local history that immerses readers in the scale-spattered herring season of 1955, mixing primary documents and oral history in a folkloric blend that harmonizes readily with the Outhouse Association's wide-ranging repertoire.
